The SLBI Roadmap to Reopening!

After another few months of Covid closure, we are pleased and excited to be able to reopen the SLBI garden to visitors! We open from Thurs 8 April so book your timed ticket now, to see our Spring garden at its best!

From Thurs 15 April, we hope to include a brief tour through the SLBI building too. This will give you a chance to see the historic library, herbarium and lecture room.

We will start running children’s holiday activities in the garden on Wed 7 April, during the Easter holidays. We then look forward to welcoming school groups back for the summer term. Book a holiday activity for your family or a visit for your school class soon!

From Friday 9 April we will start running plant walks for limited numbers, with our President, Roy Vickery, and other local plant experts.

On Saturday 24 April, we hold our first adult workshop in the garden, ‘Perfumery,’ and we will participate in the ‘Good to Grow‘ weekend, planting in the garden with children. On Sunday 25 April we open to visitors at the weekend in aid of the National Gardens Scheme.

From May, we will take bookings for garden hire. From 30 May we will start holding workshops inside the SLBI building (starting with ‘Plant Families’) and start offering room hire.

…All subject to Covid restrictions and precautions, of course, but we very much look forward to welcoming you back to our full range of SLBI activities very soon.

Our online talks continue throughout!
