The South London Botanical Institute (SLBI), a unique centre of plant-focussed learning in Tulse Hill, is recruiting a Chair of Trustees to help implement our new business plan, increase diversity and fulfil our mission: Discovering Plants, Enriching Lives, Sustaining the Future.
The purpose of our new plan is to embed the SLBI – a botanic garden and resource in an inner-city setting – more firmly into both local and scientific communities.
The Chair will provide leadership and direction to the SLBI’s trustees and staff, enabling them to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the SLBI.
For full details, see the ‘Chair Appointment Brief‘.
Please send a CV and a covering letter (no longer than two pages) to [email protected] by 15 September 2021. This should include reasons why you are interested in being our Chair and the names of two referees. We intend to interview w/c 27 September.
Please note that this is an unpaid, voluntary role.
Trustees are willing to have an informal discussion prior to any application. Please contact [email protected] and someone will get back to you. Please be aware that our staff are part-time and still working from home, so responses may take a day or two.
The SLBI strives to be inclusive and diverse, and is working to achieve those aims throughout the charity.
